Moving day
Dear subscriber,
I very much appreciate you following to my newsletter. I decided a while back to host it on Ghost, concerned that Substack was too similar to other social media platforms and their inevitable enshittification.
I have rapidly gained over a thousand subscribers, and that makes me really proud and confident that there is an interest in deeper questions about the restaurant life and what is beyond it.
I have to admit that hosting the newsletter on Ghost is a little more complex than I would have liked. To spread my message, and my writing, I have to spend much more time on social media than I prefer to, as the platform itself does not help me much.
I have decided to take a break from cooking to develop my writing. I want the platform I write on to help me spread my writing, not distract me from it.
Therefore, this email is to tell you that I will move on to a Substack. This means you will receive an email from Substack asking you to confirm your subscription. Nothing changes, really; you just receive the email from somewhere else, and I hope that you want to join me in the move.
Last week I was at the Convergence Symposium in Copenhagen, hosted by Alchemist, and I came away with a ton of ideas that I want to write about–remember to accept the invitation and receive the first post by mid next week.
